Dear PYO Member
Thank you all for working so hard at music camp and for some very fine playing at the annual concert. [nbsp]As we know there were one or two moments that still have to be secured but I am in no doubt with the luxury of more rehearsal time that we have now, the programme will be fantastic for our August concerts. Can I also thank everyone for the beautiful gifts I received from the orchestra? Gnomus is already in my garden!!
Congratulations to our two soloists on two excellent performances.
The diary of rehearsals and concerts is as follows:
May Rehearsals
Monday 11 May – Rehearsal, St John’s Academy, 6.00pm – 8.15pm
Monday 18 May – Rehearsal, St John’s Academy, 6.00pm – 8.15pm
Sunday 24 May – Perth Festival of Arts Service, St John’s Kirk Perth.
Rehearsal starts @ 9.30am in St John’s Kirk.
Programme – Hymns, Opening Promenade from Pictures, Speigel um Speigel (strings and piano) for offering and either Miss Saigon or Danzon no 2 to finish.
Monday 25 May – Full Orchestra Rehearsal, St John’s Academy, 6.00pm – 8.15pm.
June Rehearsals
Monday 1 June – Full Orchestra Rehearsal, St John’s Academy, 6.00pm – 8.15pm.
Monday 8 June – Full Orchestra Rehearsal, St John’s Academy, 6.00pm – 8.15pm.

Friday 26 June – PYO/Strings playing at Edinburgh Castle 6.30-8.00pm. Further details to follow.

Please note all PYO members that were not at camp should try to get to as many rehearsals as possible to get used to new music. I am aware that there are many rehearsal commitments at a very busy time with exams etc. Please try to attend as many as possible while still preparing for SQA exams.
