Here's a thought: Perth Musical Festival (Perform in Perth) goes virtual in its 100th year - syllabus is now available online - [www.perthshire-music-festival.org.uk](www.perthshire-music-festival.org.uk/?fbclid=IwAR2fVzWl0QOeFrfLrIzpKfrBl1hmyawLfz_Ho298Jdpf5KTOzy...) - Entries can be made online (by 22nd January) - you can video your performance and upload it to the Festival (video deadlines in March) - and then the classes and adjudications will be streamed in a virtual Festival.
Recently, I had the fun of photographing ALL the Festival trophies and documenting their winners. Perth Youth Orchestra have performed in the festival former than 50 years - and, needless to say, many of the individual names from the orchestra.
Perform in Perth would love to welcome you to this years festival! ... ExpandSee Less

What do you know?

Some of you will have heard that Mr (Philip) Alexander is retiring after many years of inspirational woodwind teaching and conducting. He will be missed by many young musicians in Perth and Kinross. Under normal circumstances, his pupils would no doubt have organised a collection at his final music camp. This year is not normal however and following requests from parents for a collection to mark his retirement, I have set up this Go Fund Me for people to contribute if they wish. Allan Young, Coordinator of Perth and Kinross’ Instrumental Music Service, will then arrange delivery of a suitable gift. If you would like to add a message to Mr Alexander's card, please comment below or email president@perth-youth-orchestra.org.uk and I will add in your message.

The clarinettist on Spohr’s concerto was the 15 year old Ian Scott, now principal with the Royal Ballet Sinfonia. His sister June, also on the recording is principal flautist with the Philharmonia.
Might be 1975? Robert MacLeod was leader of PYO. Robert, Ian and Fergus played a Milhaud trio at Festival in Croydon that July. PYO played Crown Imperial.
