DESCRIPTION:Perth Youth Orchestra was founded in 1962 and has showcased generations of talented young musicians. It offers members valuable orchestral experience through concerts\, tours\, and collaborations\, fostering musical excellence and passion in Perth and beyond. \nTonight’s programme includes: Monti’s Czardas for violin (soloist Finlay Rutherford)\, Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto 2nd movement (soloist Joe Rogers)\, Finlandia (Sibelius)\, Sentimental Sarabande from Simple Symphony for String Orchestra 3rd movement (Britten)\, and Brahms’ Symphony No 1 4th movement. \nWe finish with a selection of contemporary pieces\, including Hoedown\, A Touch of Jazz\, Into the Storm\, Opening Night and Loch Lomond.

DESCRIPTION:The Perth Youth Orchestra presents its End of Season Concert on Sunday 30 August at 7.30pm at Perth Cathedral\, St Ninian’s\, North Methven Street\, Perth\, PH1 5PP. \nThe concert features a varied programme including Finlandia\, the second movement of the Trumpet Concerto in E-flat Major\, the Sentimental Sarabande from Simple Symphony\, Czardas for violin\, the fourth movement of Symphony No. 1\, Into the Storm\, Hoedown for String and Percussion\, Satchmo – A Tribute to Louis Armstrong\, Opening Night\, and Loch Lomond. \nFeatured soloists are Joe Rogers (trumpet) and Finlay Rutherford (violin). The orchestra is led by Finlay Rutherfordand conducted by Lorna McGovern. \nAdmission is free\, with donations to support the orchestra gratefully accepted.
