SUMMARY:Edinburgh Fringe Concert
DESCRIPTION:Perth Youth Orchestra was founded in 1962 and has showcased generations of talented young musicians. For over 40 years\, PYO has performed in Edinburgh during the Festival Fringe\, delighting audiences with dynamic and engaging concerts. \nThe orchestra has enjoyed a long association with Greyfriars Kirk\, where it has regularly showcased its diverse repertoire in this historic venue. \nTonight’s performance includes Ziek – Concerto for Percussion Solo\, Movement 3 (Zoë Neave); Chaminade – Concertino for Flute (Kirk Robb); pieces from Stravinsky and Greig; and orchestral extracts from Superman\, Pirates of the Caribbean\, Wicked and the Greatest Showman.

DESCRIPTION:This concert marks the retirement of Mr Allan Young MBE after 25 years as the conductor of Perth Youth  Orchestra – many more years as an orchestra tutor – and before that as a member of the orchestra and its co-leader. \nThis concert is being staged thanks to support from Perth and Kinross Council – for whose help we are deeply indebted. \nSeats in St John’s Kirk are unreserved. \nYou can RESERVE your FREE TICKETS  – and you will receive a .PDF ticket by email. \nIf you choose the option to make a donation to Perth Youth Orchestra funds – you will automatically be sent one FREE ticket.

DESCRIPTION:St John’s Academy\, 6.00pm – 8.15pm \nPlease note – for concerts \nPYO uniform is as follows: white shirt\, PYO tie and black shoes with either black trousers (no jeans or leggings) or skirt/culottes in PYO Douglas tartan with black/navy/skin coloured tights. \nIf you are playing in the August concerts but are not coming back to PYO in the autumn\, and if you do not have a PYO skirt or black trousers\, then a school skirt is fine. \nIf you do not yet have a PYO tie\, please email Susannah Rae on scrae@outlook.com and she will arrange for one to be provided at the first rehearsal back after the holidays. \nMaterial for skirts/culottes is provided free of charge. If you would like to have your skirt/culottes made for you\, Jackie Lumsden can make one for £15. For material or to have a skirt made\, please contact Jackie on 07432671548. If you are planning to ask Jackie to make a skirt\, it would be really helpful if you could order it before the new term so that she doesn’t have too many orders all at once when new members join PYO.
